Set of 6 George III sterling silver teaspoons, with Hanoverian stems, initial engraved terminal backs M D, and picture back spoon bowl featuring turkeys.
Only simplified hallmarks, with varying degrees of wear and consist of the lion passant mark for sterling silver, and makers mark C H, as yet unidentified but possibly Charles Hougham. No city mark or date letter, which was intentionally absent by the assay office on low weight silver during this period, but assayed in London, circa 1780.
They each measure 125mm long, with 27mm wide spoon bowls, and have a combined silver weight of 87.9g.
