George III Regency sterling silver sugar tongs, with plain fiddle pattern stems.
Hallmarks are clear and consist of the lion passant mark for sterling silver, London date letter a for 1816, makers mark W E attributed to numerous London makers, but likely to be William Elliott, and the George III duty mark. No city mark, which was intentionally absent by the assay office on low weight silver during this period.
They measure 145mm long, by 17mm wide at the bow, with 18mm wide spoon bowls, and has a silver weight of 48.0g.
