George IV sterling silver vinaigrette, with a rectangle shape, a hinged lid, an engine turned decoration with floral borders, and an engraved rectangle cartouche to the lid E W. Inside is gilded, with its acanthus pierced hinged grill.
Hallmarks are clear and consist of the lion passant mark for sterling silver, anchor mark for Birmingham, Birmingham date letter E for 1828, makers mark I B for John Bettridge, and the George III duty mark - Although George IV in date, Birmingham articles were still being stamped with the George III duty mark.
It measures 31mm wide by 22mm deep by 11mm high, and has a silver weight of 16.6g.
