I developed a love of antiques from a visit to a local auction house in 2011. After a few months of buying and selling antiques and collectables, I registered as a business, and silver quickly became my speciality. Being something of a magpie, I became drawn to silver, with it's beautiful lustre and natural antibacterial properties. FREE UK DELIVERY Depending on value, items are despatched using Royal Mail Tracked® or Royal Mail Special Delivery®.For bladed* items, such as cutlery knives, to comply with The Offensive Weapons Act 2019, items are despatched using an age verification method, either Royal Mail Tracked® with Age Verification or Royal Mail Special Delivery®. Under these circumstances, according to Royal Mail, upon delivery you maybe asked your year of birth, and those aged between18-25 maybe ask to provide proof of identification.* Excluding folding pocket knives where the cutting edge of its blade does not exceed 3 inches (7.62cm), which can be sent without using an Age verification service. All orders are securely wrapped and despatched within two working days, and orders paid before 5pm are despatched the next working day, Monday to Saturday excluding Tuesdays and UK Bank Holidays.

UK RETURNS Should you wish to return an item for any reason, you should notify us within 14 days of receipt (starting the day after you receive your item) of your intention to return. After notifying us, items should then be returned within 14 days. You are responsible for the item until it reaches us. The returning item should be in the same condition as you received it. For returns due to 'change of mind', you are responsible for the costs of returning items to us.For returns due to 'damage or misdescribed': You maybe requested to clearly photograph the item and packaging before returning, for items damaged in transit.The postage fee for returning items may be refunded, but only to a maximum of the original postage weight, method and cost, or a postage weight, method and cost as previously agreed. Upon receipt of your returned item, it will be checked, and a full refund should then be processed.

Birmingham Assay Office

Victorian sterling silver Albert chain with T-bar & clip. Assay, date, and makers mark to the T-bar, and the T-bar connecting jump ring is also marked with matching date letter and the city mark. The links are individually hallmarked with the lion passant mark, with varying degrees of wear, and the clip is simply marked S S, possibly a maker, but more likely for sterling silver.

Hallmarks are quite worn, but just about readable, and consist of the lion passant mark for sterling silver, anchor mark for Birmingham, Birmingham date letter m for 1886, and makers mark J S for Joseph Sewill.
