Early Victorian folding fruit knife, with a sterling silver implement, steel and brass frame, and mother-of-pearl covered handle with scalloped & acanthus design, and angraved cartouche "EJF".
Hallmarked in Sheffield, 1839, with the William IV duty mark*, and makers mark AH for Aaron Hadfield.
* Despite being early Victorian, the William IV duty mark was still being used by the Sheffield assay office until 1840.

Condition
The fruit knife has no dents, splits, or repairs, with a good sprung folding action. No lifting on the mother of pearl cover, but there is surface wear consistent with age and use. The hallmarks have some wear, but still are clear enough to be legible.
